Artist Agreement

1. Overview

This Artist Agreement ("Agreement") governs the relationship between you ("Artist") and Playstice ("Platform") when you distribute music through our service. By uploading content to Playstice, you agree to these terms.

2. Content Rights

You retain full ownership of your music, artwork, and metadata. By uploading to Playstice, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to stream, display, and promote your content on the Platform. This license is limited to platform operations — we will never sublicense, sell, or use your music outside of Playstice without your explicit written consent.

You represent and warrant that you own or control all rights to the content you upload, including master recordings, compositions, and artwork.

3. Revenue & Royalties

User-Centric Model

Playstice uses a user-centric royalty model. Each subscriber's monthly payment ($9.99) is split: 70% to artists, 30% platform fee. The artist's 70% share is allocated proportionally based on each individual subscriber's listening time.

Example

If a subscriber listens 60% to Artist A and 40% to Artist B in a month, Artist A receives 60% of that subscriber's $6.99 artist pool ($4.19), and Artist B receives 40% ($2.80).

Direct Tips

Listeners can send direct tips ($1, $3, $5, or custom amounts). Tips are passed through at 90% to the artist, 10% platform fee (covering payment processing and platform costs).

Payment Schedule

Royalties are calculated monthly and paid out via Stripe Connect within 30 days of the end of each billing period, subject to a minimum payout threshold of $10. Earnings below the threshold carry over to the next period.

4. Authenticity Requirements

Playstice is an authenticity-first platform. As an artist, you agree to:

• Only upload music that is genuinely human-created
• Not upload AI-generated music, AI vocals, or AI compositions as your own work
• Disclose if any production tools used AI assistance (e.g., AI mastering is acceptable if disclosed)
• Complete our verification process, which may include identity confirmation and creative process documentation

Violation of authenticity requirements may result in content removal, royalty forfeiture for fraudulent streams, and account termination.

5. Content Guidelines

Content uploaded to Playstice must not:

• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party
• Contain unlicensed samples without proper clearance
• Include hate speech, explicit threats of violence, or content promoting illegal activity
• Consist primarily of silence, noise, or non-musical content designed to game the royalty system

6. Exclusivity

This is a non-exclusive agreement. You are free to distribute your music on any other platform simultaneously. We believe great music should reach as many ears as possible.

7. Removal & Takedown

You may remove your content from Playstice at any time. Upon removal request, we will delist your content within 48 hours. Royalties earned up to the removal date remain payable. We may remove content that violates this Agreement, our content guidelines, or applicable law.

8. Artist Dashboard & Transparency

You have access to a real-time artist dashboard showing: total streams, listening time, unique listeners, per-track performance, daily trends, royalty reports with per-subscriber breakdowns (anonymized), and a comparison with estimated industry-standard payouts.

9. Term & Termination

This Agreement continues until terminated by either party with 30 days written notice. Upon termination, your content is delisted, but earned royalties remain payable. Sections relating to intellectual property, payment obligations, and dispute resolution survive termination.
