Every track on Playstice is made by a real human being. That's not a marketing line — it's a structural commitment baked into how the platform works.

Why This Matters

The music industry is being flooded with AI-generated content. Millions of synthetic tracks compete for listener attention and royalty pools, diluting earnings for real artists. Playstice exists to be different: a space where listeners know the music they hear was created by someone with a story, a craft, and a heartbeat.

Our Three-Layer Verification

Layer 1: Artist Identity Verification

Every artist on Playstice goes through an identity check. We verify that you are a real person or group creating original music. This isn't about gatekeeping — it's about trust. Listeners deserve to know that the artist behind a track is real.

Layer 2: Creative Process Attestation

Artists attest to the human origin of their work during upload. This includes disclosing the use of any AI-assisted tools in the production process. We draw a clear line:

  • Acceptable: AI-assisted mastering, AI mixing suggestions, algorithmically-generated reverb/effects — tools that assist human creativity
  • Not acceptable: AI-generated vocals, AI-composed melodies, fully synthetic instrumentals, or deepfake artist likenesses

The distinction is simple: the human must be the creative author. Tools can assist, but cannot replace the artist.

Layer 3: Technical Detection (Coming Soon)

We are building audio analysis systems using audio embeddings and machine learning to detect synthetic content. This technology will complement (not replace) our human review process, adding an automated safety net for the catalog.

The Verified Badge

Artists who complete our verification process receive a Verified Human-Made badge displayed on their profile and next to every track. This badge signals to listeners: "This artist has been verified. This music is authentic."

Transparency Dashboard

Our artist dashboard shows exactly where earnings come from — which listeners contributed, how long they listened, and how royalties were calculated. No black box. No mystery pool. Complete transparency from listener to artist.

What Happens If We Find Violations

If content is found to violate our authenticity standards:

  • The content is immediately delisted
  • Royalties earned from fraudulent streams may be clawed back
  • The artist receives a detailed explanation of the finding
  • Repeat violations result in permanent removal from the platform

We believe in fair process. Artists can appeal any authenticity decision, and we commit to transparent, documented review processes.

The line between human and AI creation will continue to evolve. We commit to updating our standards as technology changes, always guided by one principle: the artist must be the author. We will engage openly with the artist community as these standards evolve.
